Seeking therapy takes courage, and you don’t have to do it alone. My goal is to provide a supportive and affirming space where you feel seen, respected, and understood. Whether you are navigating intimacy concerns, working through relationship challenges, or seeking clarity around your identity and wellness, I’m here to walk with you toward growth and healing.
I’m Amanda Goslin, LMFT, CST. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Sex Therapist, and PhD candidate at the University of Iowa. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University and completed advanced training through the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certificate Program in both Sex Therapy and Sexuality Education. I also completed the LGBTQ+ Safe Zone Project (Phase I, Phase II, and Trans Awareness), reflecting my commitment to inclusive and affirming care for clients of all identities and relationship structures.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and serve as an adjunct professor at Mount Mercy University. In these roles, I provide supervision and mentorship to student therapists as they develop their clinical skills. In addition, I teach Systemic Sex Therapy to help future clinicians understand the complex ways sexuality intersects with relationships, identity, culture, and health. My goal is to prepare therapists to approach sexual concerns with sensitivity, inclusivity, and confidence, while grounding their work in systemic theory and evidence-based practice. Supporting and training the next generation of therapists is a meaningful part of my work, and it allows me to stay deeply connected to both the academic and clinical communities.
I am a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, a role that allows me to mentor and guide developing therapists. In addition, I am a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), and an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
My work has been recognized with the Clinical Excellence Award from the University of Iowa, an honor that reflects not only my dedication to the profession but also the resilience and growth of the clients I serve.
I also value community education and advocacy. I have been a featured speaker at Sex in the Dark at Kirkwood Community College, served as a panelist for graduate training programs on working with trans and gender diverse clients, and presented workshops on Trans and Gender Diverse Awareness for Mental Health Practitioners. Additionally, I served as Clinical Coordinator at the University of Iowa’s LGBTQ Counseling Clinic, where I supported affirming care for gender-diverse and LGBTQ+ clients.
I take a holistic and solution-focused approach, recognizing that true wellness comes from nurturing the mind, body, and relationships together. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I tailor each session to your unique needs, goals, and strengths. My practice is inclusive of individuals, couples, polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous partnerships, and LGBTQ+ clients. Whether you’re here individually or within a relationship, I provide a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore challenges, build confidence, and create lasting change.
I am continually inspired by the resilience of my clients and the courage it takes to lean into vulnerability. Witnessing people reclaim intimacy, embrace authenticity, and strengthen their relationships fuels my passion for this work every day. Being able to walk alongside clients as they grow into more confident and connected versions of themselves is both a privilege and an honor.
If you are ready to begin your journey toward healing, intimacy, and fulfillment, I’d be honored to support you. My contact information is listed here on my website. I encourage you to reach out when you feel ready to take the next step.
