Sexual issues are highly prevalent with nearly two thirds of the population reporting issues at some point in their lives. As a Certified Sex Therapist and a sexuality educator, my goal is to help you move through emotional challenges to work toward a satisfying relationship and pleasurable sex life. I believe sex is not only an important part of the human experience, but also a major factor in our overall health and wellbeing. Sex therapy is a specialized area of therapy used to help people experience improved sex, sexuality, and work through their sexual struggles. I work from a relational systemic lens to help address and understand these issues.

Family is defined by close relationships that form the foundations of your life. Often times these relationships are important to your physical and mental health. Though it helps if everyone in the family participates, family therapy doesn’t necessarily mean that your whole family must be involved. It means that the therapy focuses on family interactions and dynamics. Family therapy is generally short-term and focuses on specific goals. It explores the patterns, conflicts, and ways of communicating in your family system. Family therapy may benefit your family by improving communication skills, offering new insight and understanding, strengthening relationships, and providing strategies for handling conflict.
When members of the LGBTQ+ community seek care from professionals who aren't trained to care for their specific needs, they frequently face discrimination. Through my experience with the LGBTQ Counseling Clinic at the University of Iowa, I strive to provide inclusive care without feelings of discrimination or isolation.
