What is sex therapy?
Sex therapy is a form of talk therapy focused on sexual health, intimacy, and relationships. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore concerns such as desire differences, sexual pain, intimacy struggles, or questions about identity and orientation. Sex therapy is about understanding and working through the emotional, relational, and psychological aspects of sexuality. Please note, this is a professional service and there will never be any nudity, physical touch, or sexual activities.
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals, couples, and people in diverse relationship structures, including polyamorous, consensually non-monogamous (ENM/CNM) partnerships, and open relationships. My practice is also LGBTQ+ affirming, and I welcome clients of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
What kinds of concerns can therapy help with?
Clients come to therapy for many reasons, including:
Anxiety, stress, or depression
Relationship challenges or conflict
Sexual concerns (desire, performance, pain, shame, identity)
Intimacy and communication struggles
Life transitions (marriage, parenthood, divorce, career changes)
Family issues or parenting support
What is your approach to therapy?
My approach is holistic and solution-focused. I believe true wellness comes from nurturing the mind, body, and relationships together. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and goals, while creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and free of judgment.
How long are sessions?
Most sessions are 50 minutes. Some clients benefit from longer or extended sessions, which we can arranged as needed. Frequency of therapy depends on your goals — weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions may all be appropriate.
I’m not currently in a relationship — can I still do therapy?
Yes. You don’t need to be partnered to benefit from therapy, including sex therapy. Many people come individually to explore their sexuality, address concerns, or work toward personal goals. Therapy on your own can be a powerful way to strengthen self-awareness and confidence, which can also enrich future relationships.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I provide both in-person sessions in Coralville, Iowa, and secure telehealth sessions for clients located in Iowa. Online therapy can be a convenient way to receive care while maintaining privacy and flexibility. Please note, if using insurance, it is the client's responsibility to verify if telehealth is a covered service.
Do you take insurance?
I accept most major insurance plans, though coverage can vary. I encourage clients to verify benefits directly with their insurance provider. I also offer private pay options for clients who prefer to pay out of pocket. For current rates and pricing details, please contact me directly.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of therapy. What you share in session stays between us, with a few rare exceptions required by law (such as safety concerns). I also follow HIPAA regulations to protect your privacy.
Do you work with polyamorous or ENM/open relationships?
Absolutely. I provide affirming support for polyamorous, consensually non-monogamous (ENM/CNM) clients, and those in open relationships. Therapy can help partners navigate communication, boundaries, jealousy, and balance across relationships in a supportive and non-judgmental space.
